[Bug 9611] New: application hangs with 2.6.23-rc5 (worked with 2.6.23-rc3)
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9611 Summary: application hangs with 2.6.23-rc5 (worked with 2.6.23- rc3) Product: Wine Version: 0.9.44. Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: wine-binary AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: cyril.adrian(a)gmail.com Distro: Ubuntu 7.04 Linux Kernel: 2.6.23-rc5 Wine version: your latest (0.9.44~winehq0~ubuntu~7.04-1) Hi, I just upgraded my kernel from 2.6.23-rc3 to 2.6.23-rc5 (I compile my own vanilla from kernel.org) and an application I use quite a lot (viz. NoteWorthyComposer) stopped working. With -rc3 it started very well; with -rc5 it shows a fixme message (below) and hangs. Teh foxme message (don't know if it's related): fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly L"Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" What can I do to provide more details? You using pre-release kernel. Please report this problem to the kernel's bugzilla (ot it's equivalent). To add more useful information, compile current git/cvs Wine (you don't have to install it - run it form the compile directory, specifying the full path to the 'wine' script). (Re)move ~/.wine directory, reinstall your windows application. If you have exactly the same problem, in the terminal run 'wine winedbg', then "info proc" and attach to the program's pid. Then do "bt all" and attach complete output to this bug (as a file, do not paste). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9611 Cyril ADRIAN <cyril.adrian(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |INVALID --- Comment #2 from Cyril ADRIAN <cyril.adrian(a)gmail.com> 2007-09-09 07:22:18 --- OK, I think I found the problem. I first tried with the git version, it worked well. Then I tried typing "/usr/bin/wine NWC32.EXE" (therefore using the installed 0.9.44) and it worked. So it looks like a small problem in either the kernel's binfmt handling or Ubuntu's binfmt registering. Anyway it's not a Wine problem.
