This is with a geforce8 and driver 195.36.15. The broken rendering is shown here ( http://bugs2.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27638 ).
From the commit message I guess, I have to try it on windows, to see if the rendering is also broken. Changing the FF8 render engine to uses software mode works around that problem.

Before I removed the p8 texture capability I made sure it wasn't advertised by a lot of drivers (intel drivers don't offer it on XP, my radeon hd3450 doesn't offer it on Vista and I had some nvidia reports of >= geforce6 hardware). If it does work, we might need a test to see if Windows supports P8 even when it isn't advertised.
