Immediately after loading, the output to terminal is "err:ddraw:d3d_device3_GetRenderState Unexpected texture stage state setup, returning D3DTBLEND_MODULATE - likely erroneous." repeated thousands of times per second (or something to that effect). Can confirm this error in CS 1.6 in D3D mode. It just feels that the bug has evolved over time. See comment https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33844#c14 for example.
