why don't you just get cvs and get back:
export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs(a)rhlx01.fht-esslingen.de:/home/wine
cvs login      (password is cvs)
cvs -z 0 checkout wine
cd wine
cvs update -PAd -D "2005-08-30 06:00:00 CDT" 

to get back to 30 aug 6:00h.
