http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24590 --- Comment #4 from Mikko Rasa <tdb(a)tdb.fi> 2010-11-14 09:18:34 CST --- I received a tip that replacing just ubiorbitapi_r2.dll is enough to get the launcher working. After testing I can verify that it is indeed so. You can grab the working version of the dll here: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/patches_launcher/0121/ubiorbitapi_r2.dll As for the actual problem. I think it has something to do with I/O completion ports. Perhaps writes don't generate events as they should, or some types of I/O objects don't work properly, or new events overwrite already queued ones. Some tests need to be written for this, and I don't have time for it right now. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24590 --- Comment #5 from Christoph Korn <c_korn(a)gmx.de> 2010-11-19 06:31:29 CST --- This dll really makes the launcher work and the game start. I see that this dll is on an official Ubi server. So was there a bug in the dll? Does the problem with the spinning circle also exist on Windows? If so then it might not be a bug in wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24590 --- Comment #6 from Mikko Rasa <tdb(a)tdb.fi> 2010-11-19 10:25:59 CST --- It works correctly on Windows. Ubi made some enhancements to I/O handling in the DLL, and these enhancements turned out to be incompatible with wine. See my above message for my suspicions of the nature of the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The new version is 0262. Now with it, it's possible to connect at the server but if you read my post on the Wine Forum : http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=11562 The game crash (not wine) because he think that there is an other game who use the launcher too, but it's wrong. Pastebin for the output console : http://pastebin.com/jwmmtcje Which option can i use with WINEDEBUG to find where come from the problem? Is this still an issue for Assassin's Creed II?
For Assassin's Creed II / Brotherhood (and PoP : Forgoten Sand), the launcher works correctly at 100%. You can update your game, update the Ubisoft Game Launcher and to connect it without problem. There is a new problem, impossible to launch the game in Online mode, see the latest comment : http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17195 and http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=11737&highlight= -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Then let's mark this one fixed.
