(worked for me) Uninstall Wine Stable version: sudo apt-get remove wine Then go here http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/index.html and try one of these versions for your OS. It feels a bit sluggish when designing stuff but there is no "hang" that makes the app unresponsive.
