Last month this game ran fine under WINE 141. But after I upgraded to 161 it stopped working... so I reinstalled 141 and found that something was not set correctly, because the game would no longer run. If possible I'd rather get the current settings right instead of installing another version that will no doubt ruin something else. I have another file that runs okay under 141 and I don't want to risk losing it with an update, like I lost this one. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The game (demo) runs fine here out of the box (no overrides/winetricks recipes). Played a bit - no crash whatsoever. Upgrade to recent Wine, preferably 1.7.8 and install the game in a clean (new!) WINEPREFIX. Again: Don't upgrade the prefix itself with such big version jumps! Reinstall the game with new version. $ sha1sum A_Vampyre_Story_Demo.zip 0d501b4a4fd3c85a38f59a12a17df8539f065bd1 A_Vampyre_Story_Demo.zip $ du -sh A_Vampyre_Story_Demo.zip 446M A_Vampyre_Story_Demo.zip $ wine --version wine-1.7.8-278-g53dc001 Regards -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35177 --- Comment #6 from Fred Thomas <fred.thomas-6oi1k1ay(a)yopmail.com> --- Glad to hear it does run. Can you post your "Wine Configurator" settings here? Since I don't have access to 178, how can I get the settings back to the way they worked before? (which version of Linux are you running? maybe I should switch distros) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I'm using Fedora 19 x86 and unfortunately not familiar with PCLinuxOS or its package management. Here I've found an rpm package for Wine 1.6.1: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/24624227/dir/pclinuxos/com/wine3... This seems to be the latest available version on PCLOS. Or you can compile the latest Wine from source. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35177 --- Comment #11 from Fred Thomas <fred.thomas-6oi1k1ay(a)yopmail.com> --- Thanks, but I don't want to install 1.6.1 - that's what caused my problems. I want to get back to my old settings. I think I can get the files to run if I can get Configurator set right. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
