With Kwin, Metacity, and Beryl:

Kwin, showed minimize and close.
Metacity, showed close.
Beryl, showed minimize, close and maximize.

Minimize did not function in beryl or kwin, and maximize did not function in beryl.

If other window managers are needed I may be able to test them, but these 3 are
easier to test for me.
