[Bug 41272] New: Origin Crash after Login
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41272 Bug ID: 41272 Summary: Origin Crash after Login Product: Wine Version: 1.9.16 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: msvcp Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: qops1981(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 55572 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=55572 Origin Debug Log After installing Origin using file from this link: https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe I get the login Screen. At this point all seems well. I enter my credentials and submit. The system hangs for a min then I get the Crash report from the Origin Applications. I have experienced this problem over multiple versions of wine and through two versions of Fedora ( 23 & 24 ). I have also done multiple installs of the OS & wine so there were many fresh installs to work from. Attached should be the Wine Debug Log & the Crash report from Origin. Since the bug was opened against wine-staging I also tested staging. I cant even login with staging. The installer complains that you need to set windows 7 or newer. And I did. I cant even install the application. It just hangs there, dont know why. I cant install the application using pure wine either. It complains that hardware doesnt match specifications...I didnt see this popup with wine-staging. wine 1.9.20 and staging 1.9.19 It feels like this needs a new bug report now. It's quite serious since it's blocking many games now. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41272 --- Comment #6 from winetest(a)luukku.com --- sha1sum OriginSetup.exe 376bdbed3c53e4c5738c44c74829ca67e7e405ae OriginSetup.exe with wine 2.0-git it crashes reason unknown. With wine-staging 2.0 it shows all white content. And you are not able to login. This installer is useless for me currently. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Steps to reproduce: 1. Use new clean 64-bit wineprefix (this is required for some newer games to run smoothly, so a 32-bit wineprefix is not really a viable alternative) 2. Download OriginThinInstaller.exe 3. Launch installer in new fresh prefix. If the window disappears or shows just white, stop it again, remove your entire wine prefix folder and try again. (there seems to be some race condition of sorts, but with a few attempts it usually runs as intended) 4. Install Origin 5. Wait for the login screen to show up 6. Just do nothing, it will almost crash instantly without even touching the input fields of the login screen -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41272 --- Comment #10 from Jonas Thiem <jonas(a)thiem.email> --- I don't easily have wine 3 available right now. I just tested wine-2.21 in a clean 64bit wineprefix and it still crashes right when the login screen is supposed to appear. (Instant "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close." popup) OriginWebHelper.exe also crashes resulting in additional crash popups, although I'm not sure whether that's related. The installation itself appears to work fine, it's just not possible to actually launch it. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
