You don't even need a skype account to reproduce the problem, just put in a bogus username and password. This looks kind of nasty. (I wonder if it's a problem in wine's bitblt exception handling; there's lots of blitting going on. Mike, Dan, does it still segfault with Wine 1.3.28?
Using http://www.filehorse.com/download-skype/7756/ It's still in wine-1.7.11-114-g6f498c4. If I set the windows version to win2k instead of xp, you get a not too helpful backtrace. Skype 5.2.60.113 is deprecated and it cannot connect to the Skype network. The minimum required version is Skype 6.14.
