There is reports of application working well in 1.1.5, but don't working in 1.1.8, then, I think this is a severe regression. Installation is fine, but when I try to execute, the following message is displayed: fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x110000 1 (nil) 0 No Window is displayed. Unable to reproduce with 1.1.10. Installed in a clean prefix and the fixme is there but it runs anyway.
Maybe this is a issue in 64 bits systems, but I'm not the only person to see this bug, in the AppDB other user reported the same error. There is some special procedure to make this work or just install and run? I tested two cases: Opening an Office 2003 .ppt file and a Office 2007 .pptx file. Case 1: Opening an Office 2003 powerpoint presentation works fine, navigation/showing the presentation is ok too. But then the application crash when closed using the escape key or when the end of the presentation is reached. The debug log is attached. Case 2: Opening an Office 2007 powerpoint presentation does not work due to bug 12209: Microsoft FileFormatConverter.exe does not work. The viewer fails because it can find ppcnv.dll. Console output is attached. I will run some regression tests now and report back if I find the faulty commit. Maybe this is a issue in 64 bits systems, but I'm not the only person to see this bug, in the AppDB other user reported the same error. There is some special procedure to make this work or just install and run?

I have also discovered that the problem is related to the user language. My ubuntu 9.10 installation is configured to use Dutch as the user interface language. Compiled/installed from source, the latest available version, wine-1.1.38. The ~/.wine directory was empty. 32 bits system. Installation of Power Point Viewer 2007 was succesfully completed (there were just 13 "fixme" messages, but that's less than with previous versions of Wine). When trying to execute, nothing happens, and the only message is that one already mentioned by Alexandre: fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x110000 1 (nil) 0 The mentioned trick of prefixing the command with LANG="" doesn't help. Since it has been reported that Power Point Viewer 2007 has already worked with previous versions, this is a regression. The LANG="" trick didn't help either. But I found a workaround!
