But when I launch it I get an error about the steamwebhelper.exe crashing and I am therefore unable to do things such as reset my password and anything else which requires it. I have attached the backtrace WINE gave me. I am on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22. I installed Steam for Windows using PlayOnLinux 4.2.10-2ubuntu1 and WINE 1.8.5. But when I launch it I get an error about the steamwebhelper.exe crashing and I am therefore unable to do things such as reset my password and anything else which requires it. I have attached the backtrace WINE gave me.
I am on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22. So far I have not experienced this issue on Windows.
Your bug is a duplicate of bug 38960. You will need to change your version of Windows from 10 to XP in Wine's configuration utility in order to avoid webhelper crashes until the fixes from that bug I just linked become a part of Wine Stable. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
