[Bug 11845] New: Team Fortress 2 will not start

It gets past the Valve splash screen, and displays the loading screen, before crashing. I have tested with fullscreen, windowed mode, with, and without a Wine virtual desktop. Wine version is the current latest Git, wine-0.9.56-403-gde928a0, video drivers are the Nvidia 169.12 drivers.
