The aforementioned bug seems to have resolved issues for Android 9, but running on Android 8.1 is not really possible due to this. Here's remainder of my previous comment in the other bug: The behaviour has improved a bit, I can now see a brief flicker of cmd, but it's covered with a black screen in just a few frames. (or you can just clear application data for Wine) BUT there is another problem, at least for me, I can't install new programs, because of "access denied" when clicking on the installer file (inside wine). Still having the problem - black or gray screen - trying to use 3.21 on Huawei M5 10.8" (Android 8.0.0). Changing to Skia renderer only changes from fixed color screen to flickering colors, but still no cmd visible. Any other Ideas?
Same behavior with my Huawei Mediapad M5 8.4". Black or Grey screen and switching to Skia GPU renderer causes flickering colors. I've tried 3.21 and the latest RC build. Try to click-run-copy-delete-whatever this .exe-file.... ACCESS DENIED! Now click the textfile.,. WOW! Yes, its a registered document and the tool to open it is notepad.exe within wine. No problem getting data inside if its as document... Setting renderer to Skia prior to (re)installing and running app doesn't help. Looks like the current codebase is incompatible with some Huawei-specific hardware/core quirks.
