For me installing dcom98 does not solve the problem. OLE error message is not shown but agent does not work:
Try running in a virtual desktop. I installed the software and after that ran magent.exe with WINEDEBUG=+ole. Then the error showed and I clicked the button to close the dialog & the program. On a sidenote, with winetricks dcom & riched this program actually works quite well now. I was able to send several SMSs with it.
