This appears on intel video chips, e.g. this:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation N10 Family Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 02)
and also on i945 (EEEPC 901).
This doesn't reproduce on nvidia.

Screen shot on AMD RV710 with radeon driver

Attached is a screen shot with an AMD RV710 card.
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV710
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.1-devel (git-e3e1ffb)
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30

This might be a bug in mesa. Do you still have the bug with your intel card?

Looks the same as with r600 driver when using LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1.

Yes, still present on i915 with Mesa 9.0.

Looks fixed for me with mesa git as of 27.02.2013. Should it also be an
upstream bug?
