With version 7.9.8 and using Darwine (Wine for the Mac) I have been able to use the search within a Bible feature for some time. I copied over some of my windows fonts and it started working. As far as install steps I downloaded the installer and just ran it. My wine setup is a windows xp emulated enviroment and I let the window manager decorate the windows.
