IE and MSN Messenger 7.0

Hello, In WIne version 0.9.14 and earlier, MSN Messenger can be installed without installing IE6, but starting with 0.9.15, it complains about missing IE unless this is installed. I tested this is the same .wine directory (created by Wine 0.9.17); to my knowledge, registry keys are only created when 'wineprefixcreate' is run, so that means the problem must be somewhere else. My question is: is this a known side-effect due to the ongoing work on builtin IE and WIne's Gecko engine, or is it a nasty regression that should be tracked down? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=744… Regards, Alexander N. Graphics card video ram these days far exceed whats needed for video modes. Just a quick number crunch shows 1400x1050(a)32bpp only requires approx 5.6MB. Most of the ram is used for textures, I believe. I think the worst case at detecting amount of video ram is stuffing it with textures and guessing how much went in.

Winlib - Active Scripting

Hi, I am starting to investigate if it would be feasible to port some of our applications with WinLib. Presently, we use MainSoft MainWin. I have a few questions: 1) is there a definitive list somewhere what API WinLib implements of Win32, and what it doesn't? I have had some difficulty finding this information. 2) one application we'd like to port uses active scripting (VBScript). Basically we wrote some features in VBScript, which in turn automating our application (like macros in Photoshop CS). What would be our options for this if we were to use WinLib? (MainWin ships with VBscript and JScript) 3) Would the Ole Compound Storage format (StgCreateDocfile) WinLib read/write be binary compatible with the one on Windows? 4) what are the options of an application that embeds the IE web browser control?

wined3d regression

Hi, I think todays check-ins related to wined3d broke Guildwars. Now it complains DirectX 8 could not be found and install it. Before showing that dialog box it show some citical section failure. I think the y'days locking fixes broke guildwars :( Have to do regression testing today bye, Vijay

Some help needed on basic oleacc implementation

Hello, currently I'm working to get the Notes Client (7.0.x) running on wine. I've done some work on oleacc and so far it seems to work. As this is my first try on ole maybe someone could help out (ie. reviewing my code and tell me what needs to done), so I don't blame myself on getting this patch checked in. Some info on the internals: The Notes Client is linked against the oleacc.dll. On a call to AccessibleObjectFromWindow there's simply no check if it was successfull (S_OK). Next it calls addref and crashes badly. Normally this should be fixed in the Notes Client itself, but I don't know if someone want's this to be fixed at IBM and if they may such things in the productive code stream (although fixes have been done before in Notes 6.5.1 to get it magically running on wine). - Stefan
