Otherwise you lose track of the control flow when reading it. (Never mind that you get many more lines on a page/screen.) Of course the opening '{' for a function MUST be in column 1. A coding standard really ought to discuss namespace usage and pollution. Any reasonable layout is usually ok. (OTOH I much prefer that tab stops be at 8 character intervals.) Performance issues

Hello people, How can i improve performance in GUI applications under wine? I have a cobol application here made with microfocus netexpress and I can see the button icons reloading every type I refresh the screen. I'm using wine from CVS with a PIII 900Mhz redhat 7.3 box. Wine app

Hi I came across this page: http://www.unrealized.com/references/ "Unfortunately we have no information on running UnrealEd in Linux. Perhaps someone has had success running it under WINE? If so, please let us know about it so we can get more information for others trying to run UnrealEd on their Linux box." So I guess they would like to hear if someone had success and would also put a "works with wine" on their page once it's running. bye Fabi

Run .bat files

Hi I found out that I can't run batch files directly. It gives me "cannot determine executable type". Maybe there is a possibility to start it right away with wcmd or wineconsole. The problem is that it must also work if a running app calls the batch files with CreateThread. Could it be a solution to add a new type to MODULE_GetBinaryType and then start a console with the batch file argument? If this is already too late, is there another possibility inside wine? Would it work if I change the call to CreateThread("cmd file.bat")? But then it has to work on all Windows95, NT and wine (command.com, cmd.exe, wcmd). Thanks bye Fabi

Problem in winemaker

Trying to debug the cygwin installer that isn't able to reread where it saves the pakages, I wanted to compiler the installer as Winelib. running 'winemaker .' in setup source dir fails when analysing IOStreamProvider.h, at line 1193 in winemaker. It definitely doesn't work with Winelib since there are neither any header files nor any implementation. Whether a GDI+ using application works under Wine I have no idea. My guess probably not. Try and find out. :-)
