quick question about windows.h and then a long one if anyone is interested.

I've been playing around with building the wine dlls with the headers in winsup for cygwin/mingw. I've included the mingw headers after the local directory but before inclusion of the wine headers. I can build some of the more simple like twain and mapi doing this but I must also include windows.h in the sources. I noticed in wines windows.h it says it should not be included internaly so I assume this is also wrong for Mingw/MS_VC. Simple Question: Is my assumption right? Long Question: If so then does anyone have any recommendations on testing 3rd party headers under mingw. Thanks Steven __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hello again. Bad icon drawing under native comctl32

Any ideas? I'll try and get together a reasoanbly sized test case. When our application runs using the native comctl32 the icons in the SysListview32 are displayed with random black pixels in the background. The pattern varies between icons and between runs of the application. Bill

wine systray and KDE tray

I just noticed the other day that the icon that used to appear nicely in the KDE's tray has gone and now the WINE systray comes up (but without the icon in it). Is this a deliberate change? Bill

spec file format changed?

Hello all. I'm trying to compile our wine tree with the latest release of wine, and it seems that some of the codeweavers' helper applications don't want to compile. Specifically, when tring to do a "make" in the utils directory, it complains about the spec file for geticon. Declaring debugging channel

In what cases do I need to declare a debugging channel? As I see some debugging channels are declared with WINE_DECLARE_DEBUG_CHANNEL (e.g. channels cursor, icon, resource). Some other channels are used and not declared anywhere, e.g. (e.g. channels in comctl32.dll - animate, comtl, comboex). Documentation in DEVELOPER-HINTS seems obsolete regarding this. thread confusion

I just noticed this while looking into a problem with the ComboBox code. It makes no sense to me. The application runs a container executable which then loads up an OCX (based on the command line). Part of that OCX includes a control based on the ComboBox control. (That's another story). I added a couple of MessageBox calls in the source of the control's code. While the OCX was loading the "before" and "after" message boxes were displayed as expected. However once the OCX was up and I pulled down the dropdown list the "before" message box popped up TWICE and you had to say OK to them in the correct order to get the pair of "after" boxes. So I included GetCurrentThreadID in the message they displayed, thinking that we now had two threads. But both had (or appeared to have) the same thread ID. So I turned on the dialog warnings and, yes, the second call to MessageBox was occurring while the first was still executing. Anyone know what is going on there? Bill

OpenGL ICD

Hi everyone, I am looking into implementing opengl based on MesaGL for the reactos platform. I am currently looking into the possibility of hardware accelerating opengl but it seems microsoft has stopped spreading around it's ICD (installable client driver) documentation. Steven edwards told me marcus meissner of lionel ulmer might be able to help out here. First of all (maybe wine people won't know the details of this), if I get my hands on one of those, would that pose a legal risk on the reactos project. (They used to be distibuted to anyone, last year they were pulled of the MS website) Second of all, if using ICD documentation wouldn't be a problem, has anyone lying an old copy around? As microsoft will be open sourcing some of their protocols, there is a chance this might be one of them. Any other comments on planning to implement opengl? Jurgen
