Even simpler and much better take the kernel from rawhide, at the moment that's version 2.4.20-2.34 but any kernel starting with 2.4.20-2.30 should work. I tested it myself with 2.4.20-2.33 .
We might want to run some tests to verify the new threading code is actually present and working. Maybe run some of the regression tests that come with NGPT or NPTL, say.
