Well, vertex buffer support is only a hack in the case of 'pre-transformed' buffers (i.e. if the application transforms the buffer without rendering it and later on renders the transformed buffers). The only application I know of which uses this feature is MI4 (EMI). A part from that, where is the hack located :-) ?
