X Error of failed request: Bad alloc (insufficient resources for operation)

Hi...

trying to run a astrology software brings the following error message at a 
point where the graphics data should be displayed:

X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  53 (X_CreatePixmap)
  Serial number of failed request: 56041
  Current serial number in output stream: 56043

and the program stops immediately. Looks like X is not able or willing to 
bring enough memory to the app. Is there anything I can do?
