Hi, I tried to use the new eject command and this does not seem to work. Sounds like your cdrom drive has not been detected as a removable device. Is it a real CD or a disk image?
Morover, it seems eject is not installed so I have to run from the programs directory. I have also found that there is already a eject command in my distro (Mandrake). So this conflict may require renaming the eject command.

Then you need to figure out why FILE_GetDeviceInfo doesn't recognize it as a CDROM.

IOCTL_STORAGE_EJECT_MEDIA in CDROM_SetTray (ntdll/cdrom.c), the CDROMEJECT works for my cdrecorder but I think it should not because the cd is still mounted and I can see the cached data even if I change the CD by another one. It closes them in the server, but it can't close them in the client. They are open in the client because your CD has not been detected as a removable device so the client doesn't know that it shouldn't cache fds.

Yes, the device has been unmounted as far as the server is concerned, any subsequent access to the files will fail, so it makes sense to return success. The error (21) suggest the drive is not ready or is finishing something. Could you add a delay before the ejection IOCTL ?

umount is not instantaneous, it may involve large buffer flushing and fs updates, is mount returning before all this is done?

60s ! Stange ! And during this delay are you able to eject by pushing the drive button ? Are there files opened during this delay ? Another thing, you may try duplicating the code and adding delays to reproduce the 2 invocations of eject and then narrow down things to determine which ioctl should be called twice. Bye, Christian
