That's a not correct fix. You either need to add language resources for
your locale, or (if you believe that all spanish variants around the world
are the same) make spanish translations use

LANGUAGE LANG_SPANISH, NEUTRAL
instead of
LANGUAGE LANG_SPANISH, SUBLANG_DEFAULT
