Trying to find debian version

[Zesh]

I am trying to install wine and when trying to find my debian version,
lsb_release -da says kali-rolling. So does cat /etc/debian_version. Is
their another command I can use? On my virtual machine description it says
it is running debian x64.

I suspect you are not running Debian but Kali Linux, a 
Debian Testing derivative:

So Debian Testing is your answer.
