Re: wine-devel Digest, Vol 12, Issue 71
Uh-oh. I'm already well into making this. I guess we have a little mis-/lack-of communication. https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KDEGuidanceWineSpec As for ideas/testing -- yes please! It's part of guidance in kde svn. http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground/base/guidance/?rev=563975#dirlist ~Yuriy

I just noticed KDE accepted a project for their "Season of KDE" program for a Wine KControl module: http://developer.kde.org/seasonofkde/project.php?kde_wine.xml
Not sure if anyone from Wine wants to get in contact with the author, but we might be able to help out with ideas / testing / etc. For example, the two things that come to mind are that it should implement everything in winecfg and also have a button to pop up regedit. Maybe it should also be able to pop up taskmgr too.

I have informed the other KDE mentors and we are discussion some solutions to avoid duplication of efforts. Basically something like Yuriy concentrating on the configuration items and David the Look&Feel and KIO integration items. IMHO of course based on the agreement of both students since they might have individual ideas on how to solve certian aspects. Doesn't look like they have anything substantial to say, but just in case from the Summer of Code FAQ: What if someone else is attempting to execute on the same project? That's fine, a little duplication is par for the course in open source. Can a group apply for and work on a single project? No, only an individual may work on a given project. My suggestion is to give each student a bag (of marijuana), a lighter, and a pipe, lock them in a room, and don't let them out until they have come to a unianimous decision as to how to proceed.
