GDI.EXE

Since some apps require a gdi.exe file containing version info, Wine won't
be independent until the need for a true gdi.exe is removed. Are there any
plans on how this should be achieved?

The "DLL placeholder files" spot on the Wine Status Page is reserved for
this purpose... it should also be covered in earlier WWNs, you may want to
search.
