Hmm, works for me here.  I assume you mean WINEDEBUG=, not WINDEBUG=. 
And, do you mean WINEDEBUG=trace or WINEDEBUG=trace+all?  I think +trace
will have no effect, as trace isn't the name of a debug channel.
