Visual-MinGW uses the following: visual-mingw ICON Mainicon.ico which apparently windres accepts, but fails with wrc because of the '-' in 'visual-mingw'. Can someone please check if it works with the MS tools, to determine if we need to fix wrc? Tnx. -- Dimi.

Hi, I'm developing a small app with MS tools and I know that MS accepts '-' and '!' for ressources (icon, bitmap, accels, menus ...). Mehmet

Yes, I knew that strings like "x-x!xx" were accepted. I just tested icon ressource beginning with weird characters like "!icon" or "-icon" and that works (tested under VC++/sp5). Mehmet

Yep, that works even with icon file named "x-x!xx", "-xxx" or "!xxx". (note that I'm running Win2K) Mehmet
