VNC and worms

Can anyone figure out how to fix this display artifact that's very 
frequent when using Wine through VNC servers (tightvncserver and 
realvncserver, to be precise).

It appears randomly on some redraws and not other ones (dragging the 
window off screen and back often makes the text look normal).
