I think outputting decompressed formats out of the media source always has been a hack and I'm not convinced we should add more formats there.
I've already spent plenty of time arguing that this is not a hack and is in fact the correct approach, and I'd rather not have to repeat that argument yet again. Suffice it to say I still stand by that position. -- https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/2159#note_25047
