I'm not sure what precisely you mean, but after the thin mode is changed, windows does not send the MEStreamThinMode event until an actual sample is requested and sent. The event basically happens right before the sample. This is something I noticed during testing, but I'm not sure how absence of an event could be reasonably tested without adding a timeout that would slow down test execution.
