Quite simply, I did not realize the functions within "kernelbase/loader.c" were not just contained to that DLL, but evidently are being used in such functions as time zone information acquisition. I will go back to the drawing board, add some debugging type "printf" statements within the loader.c file, and check out the usage of the functions in my virtual machine sandbox. The function apparently in question that is getting a "knock on" effect is the "LoadResource" function.
