BTW @rbernon, in commit cfff33060 you said you found a leak using valgrind. I haven't had any luck with running wine under valgrind yet, how do you do it?

I have been using https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/1074, with the valgrind fork I have here: https://gitlab.winehq.org/rbernon/valgrind.

Note that Valgrind requires WINELOADERNOEXEC=1 whereas GDB integration requires it to not be set.
