So when are people arriving tomorrow? Andrew Eikum and I are trapped in Amsterdam but will in theory be arriving today yet. Unless this is Limbo and we're dead and we don't know it :-/. I may pop round to a spice developers meeting, but later in the day, we were thinking of doing such things as a brewery tour, visiting the parliament, or various and sundry museums. We figure we'll be back at the hotel by 5:00 to connect with folks. If we should look out for you any time ahead of that, drop a line here. Cheers, (a sleep deprived Limbo cursed) Jeremy

I should be in at about 10 in the morning, but my girlfriend booked me at a different hotel so it'd take me a little while to meet up. She's decided to take a short vacation and use some savings to come along (hard month), so we'd probably be down with non-developer activities ;) Erich

My flight will supposedly get in at 9:20 am; how long it takes to get to the hotel from the airport, I have no idea. -- Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio(a)earthlink.net>

Oh good, there's Internet access in Limbo. I'm not so afraid to die suddenly :-) (Actually it might depend on the price)
I may pop round to a spice developers meeting,
Cool. You can tell them their qxl driver is slow as molasses when running Wine's console tests(*) and we need something faster for QEmu. Also it would be nice if they got it signed. [...]

I will arrive with Josh with the 10h23 train. So I guess we should be at the hotel around 11 or 11h30. (*) kernel32:console runs in 16s on my slow EeePC+Wine and takes 224s in QEmu + Windows 7 with the qxl driver, more or less the same as with the unaccelerated VGA driver (215 to 258s). At 118s VMware Workstation + Windows 7 shows one can go about twice as fast. -- Francois Gouget <fgouget(a)free.fr> http://fgouget.free.fr/ The last time religion ruled, it was called the dark ages.

My plane arrives on Friday at 18:20 (6:20 pm) at Brussels National Airport. So at 19:00 (7:00 pm) i might be at the hotel, maybe later, maybe sooner... i don't know, it depends Am i the only one arriving that late? Someone knows how much it'll be per taxi from the airport to the hotel? (In case i miss a train/metro) -- Best Regards, André Hentschel

The hotel claims it takes 20 minutes; that usually translates into about $35 or so stateside. So figure a billion dollars in Euros <grin>. Cheers, Jeremy

You're going to put all my complaints about travel to shame, aren't you? <grin> I imagine that we will all congregate at the Hotel in the morning on Saturday until around 9:45 or so, when I expect we'll head off to FOSDEM. At this point, I think everyone is on their own on Saturday, although it might be nice for pockets of people to reconnect. Since you probably won't recognize anyone by sight, it'd be good if we could connect with you somehow after you arrive. Again, my temporary cell is +32 486 636 249. That should be a local number of 0486-636-249, so you should be able to dial it from a hotel fairly easily as well. Cheers, Jeremy

I suspect that we may eventually end the night at the beer event: https://fosdem.org/2013/practical/beerevent/ So if I don't hear my phone, you may find us down there. Even if we're not there, you'll find fellow geeks anyway. Cheers, Jeremy

I don't know how accurate it is, but http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Brussels-Belgium&from=Brussels+A... estimates 18-25 Euros depending on traffic. -- Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio(a)earthlink.net>

Will you help sponsering the free beer? Or will Wine people get free beer more often than others? :D

I'll be in the airport around 10.10 and should be at the hotel at about 11.10 - 12.30. Still thinking/deciding if it would be fun to actually walk to the hotel.
I would definitely like to walk with you, 2h30 hours are not that much. Maybe in another occasion.
