The BlackWhite fix has been merged (MR !10329), thanks Esme!

I also have fixes ready for the remaining Gray formats (2bppGray, 4bppGray,
16bppGray) wich have the same NULL handler issue. Should I submit those as a
separate MR, or wait until the BlackWhite fix is in a stable release first?

The branch is ready locally with tests + Implementation.
