Your fixes have improved sound playback. As of wine 1.4 rc4 I no longer have to restart PA and crackling rarely happens in SC2 or other apps. If I do hear crackling it takes anywhere from a few seconds to a minute to correct itself, but I have not had a case yet where it is constant until the app is restarted or PA is restarted.
