After upgrading from 1.1.40 to 1.1.41, the game now fails to start at least nine times out of ten. The launcher program starts, and when I click Play, the splash image appears in the center of my screen, but it doesn't go away and the opening EA / BioWare movie never plays. If I then switch to another virtual desktop and back again, I find the splash image has disappeared and wine has produced error output (which I will attach to this bug report). I used git bisect to narrow down the regression. Updating a texture while it is attached to the currently bound FBO is something GL implementations tend to get wrong. NVIDIA fails at glTexSubImage2D(), fglrx and Mesa with glTexImage2D(). I'm afraid to try what happens on OS X.
