[Bug 60305] New: Focus problem between X window and Wine window
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60305 Bug ID: 60305 Summary: Focus problem between X window and Wine window Product: Wine Version: 11.17 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: cas.per@laposte.net Target Milestone: --- Distribution: --- OS : CachyOS Window manager : Wayland Since wine-11.17-1.1 I have a focus problem between X windows and Wine windows. If a Wine window is not minimized, it will always try to take focus over an X window. In other words, when you click on the X window, the previous Wine window will appear. This does not happen when the Wine window has been minimized beforehand. And this does not happen in earlier versions (wine-11.16-2.1 and earlier). I realize this is really a niche issue, but unfortunately, I need all three types of window managers for my work. For now, the problem has been resolved by reverting to the previous version of Wine. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60305 --- Comment #1 from Ken Sharp <imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com> --- Can you perform a regression test? https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/wikis/Regression-Testing There have been a number of related fixes recently which may be available in Wine 11.18 if you can wait until then, but please let us know if it is fixed. (Alternatively you can build the latest branch yourself) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Since wine-11.17-1.1 I have a focus problem between X windows and Wine windows. If a Wine window is not minimized, it will always try to take focus over an X window. In other words, when you click on the X window, the previous Wine window will appear.
Can you please give a specific set of reproduction steps? Ideally with builtin Wine applications.
Window manager : Wayland
That you're using XWayland is valuable information, but on the other hand, Wayland isn't a window manager, and that's also important to know. What window manager are you using? E.g. kwin (KDE), xfwm (XFCE), mutter (GNOME). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60305 --- Comment #3 from casper <cas.per@laposte.net> --- Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately, even though I'm not a complete beginner, regression testing seems a little too complex for my level. I'll wait for version 18 and let you know if the problem persists. I use CachyOS with KDE Plasma, so it's actually KWin, not Wayland sorry. * Steps to reproduce - Open my connection to the X server with xephyr with this script : Xephyr :2 -screen 1920x1020 & sleep 1 shared-clip > /dev/null 2>&1 & DISPLAY=:2 xterm -geom 80x20 -e ssh -Y user@server 'setxkbmap fr; /usr/bin/fvwm2 -f /users/user/.fvwm2rc' & - Open any Windows software with Wine - Don't minimize the Wine windows - Click on the Xephyr windows on the task bar --> it'll show the last Wine window instead A very niche problem indeed... -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
