It might be a securerom issue in the installer itself. The cd's i have are original, so i tried to install in a windows xp virtual machine. First it complained about not enough space, that ignored because i was using virtual box with a resizable image. Then it went to where it crashed in wine. The result where it crashed was this: "gothic 2 this cd was not verified as a authentic original" And quit. Just kill the wine process (Ctrl+C) at the end of the installation before the SecuRom test fails. I think the game will run anyway. However i found a workaround. The error is the same regardless. The installer does not crash but at the end of the installation the setup misses a CD. If you abort the setup all files will be deleted. The process has to be killed to prevent this.
