The check was such that upon running the game executable a popup with 'This game needs VC++ redist...Install it now ? Please install and restart the installation of oracle VM VirtualBox 7.0.20. It's also using UE 5. They suggested getting access to the engine code and figuring out how what that prerequisite check is doing, so Wine would be able to work around it. Unfortunately this still can be constantly changing. I suggested may be they could add some command line parameter to turn off this check.
