[Bug 58559] New: Pokémon RNG abuse tool CoPilot crashing with mono
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 Bug ID: 58559 Summary: Pokémon RNG abuse tool CoPilot crashing with mono Product: Wine Version: 10.12 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: mscoree Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: tw0ali(a)tutanota.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 79064 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=79064 crash logs The tool is hosted here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EOrOTPyfn8KuzfOtUlmXlYhEtlGsPxU9 The programs starts with vanilla Wine+mono, but when clicking on some of the left menus (for example Initial Seed or IDs & Starters) it crashes (logs are provided). Installing dotnet48 and corefonts with Winetricks seems to solve the problem. I am no expert here, but it would be great if mono could fix this, so that it's not necessary to install external components. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #1 from Esme Povirk <madewokherd@gmail.com> --- https://gitlab.winehq.org/mono/wpf/-/merge_requests/6 was merged to address this, so it could use a retest with Wine Mono 11.0.0/Wine 11.3. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #4 from minrosa9 <tw0ali@tutanota.com> --- Created attachment 80528 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80528 Timer logs Sorry for the double post, but I found another issue. I don’t know how familiar you are with the tool, but at a certain point during its use you need to synchronize a timer with the elements on the game screen. Once the timer window is opened, it doesn’t respond to commands. The buttons are unclickable. Also, this window is supposed to play a sound every few seconds to provide audio feedback for synchronizing with the game, but this sound is not played consistently. This is what I was able to log while I was messing around with the window. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #5 from Esme Povirk <madewokherd@gmail.com> --- Profile window was fixed by https://gitlab.winehq.org/mono/wine-mono/-/commit/ab675445bbee41edf97d0e6ea3..., I think. It'd probably make sense to file another bug for the timer sounds, once the profile window fix is in Wine. From what I can tell, it's just using winmm.PlaySound. The sound files are very short (blink1 is 0.14 seconds), not sure if that could be related. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #6 from minrosa9 <tw0ali@tutanota.com> --- I see, thank you. I'll wait for the next release. What about the timer window? Do you think its unclickable state is related to Mono? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #7 from Esme Povirk <madewokherd@gmail.com> --- I haven't been able to figure out what's going on with the timer window, but it's most likely Wine Mono/WPF at fault somehow. I thought the timer might be running on the main thread when it's clearly supposed to be on a background thread, but logging shows this isn't the case. The "Calculate" button in the main window seems similar - while it's in progress, the Cancel button doesn't work. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #8 from Esme Povirk <madewokherd@gmail.com> --- Profile window fix is in Wine Mono 11.1.0, which is merged into Wine and should land in Wine 11.8. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58559 --- Comment #9 from minrosa9 <tw0ali@tutanota.com> --- Thanks, I've just updated and I can confirm the Profile is fixed (I still see no words on the left button when I open a profile configuration, which I believe is "Cancel", but this is a minor issue). I'll proceed to open a bug report for the audio problem. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
