[Bug 60235] New: Chronicles of Mystery / Art of Murder: intermittent vertex explosions with shadows and effects enabled
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60235 Bug ID: 60235 Summary: Chronicles of Mystery / Art of Murder: intermittent vertex explosions with shadows and effects enabled Product: Wine Version: 11.13 Hardware: x86-64 URL: https://store.steampowered.com/app/34800/Chronicles_of _Mystery_The_Scorpio_Ritual/ OS: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: regression Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: d3d Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: gyebro69@gmail.com CC: z.figura12@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Regression SHA1: 2647661759ffea781793e5d6f79a5b72cce46e5c Distribution: --- Created attachment 81929 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=81929 screencast showing the problem Art of Murder: Hunt for the Puppeteer and Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual show severe intermittent geometry corruption. Large stretched triangles / polygons suddenly extend from the character model across the scene, resembling a "vertex explosion". The corruption usually lasts only for a few seconds and then disappears. The problem occurs after entering a new location and when moving the character through parts of the location that have not been traversed yet. Interestingly, once the character has already walked along a particular path within the same location, moving along that path again no longer triggers the corruption. Disabling the "Shadows and effects" option in the graphics settings completely prevents the problem. Bisected to commit 2647661759ffea781793e5d6f79a5b72cce46e5c wined3d: Use a semaphore for frame latency. I cannot cleanly revert that commit but the immediately preceding commit works correctly in both affected games.
