When prompted to select programs, uncheck everything except Photo Galley (didn't test any others yet) and proceed. After a moment, it crashes. Tried with wine 1.7.25 today and I am also having issues. The installer doesn't display the EULA and complains that I am not connected to the internet.
That's bug 35376, which can be worked around with native urlmon from IE7. This bug is the next one you run into, and the workaround is native mshtml. Still present in 1.7.25, and contrary to what the description and summary imply, the problem occurs with any and all apps you try to install through Windows Live Essentials, not just Photo Gallery. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
