If you want to test the demo, it seems you can only start the demo when it asks you if you want to play it after you install. Not for me. Still an issue with Wine 1.1.10, the nvidia 96.43.09 drivers, and with hardware vertex shaders turned off in winecfg.
Why are you turning them off? Works fine here, in wine-1.3.7-207-gb6a1951.
