This does not seem to happen when uTorrent is not run within a FreeNX session. If the issue isn't over yet I expect it is a FreeNX issue. Especially the screen shot part sounds suspicious. I guess it is an issue on the FreeNX client side (perhaps it has some XRender bugs since XRender is used for most 32-bit related operations). The issue seen on Ubuntu (without FreeNX) might not have the same cause but might look similar. Now, the sidebar icons aren't highlighted at all, and only the textual portion of the sidebar is highlighted. This happens both within an NX session and a local X server session.
