[Bug 59885] New: Sonic Boom (1995 Klik & Play fangame) locks up in new WoW64 build
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59885 Bug ID: 59885 Summary: Sonic Boom (1995 Klik & Play fangame) locks up in new WoW64 build Product: Wine Version: 11.11 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: kernel32 Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: gerbilsoft@gerbilsoft.com Distribution: --- The fix for bug 59871 allowed the game to get a bit further in starting up. On wine and wine-staging with the "old" WoW64 setup, the game works (with a 32-bit prefix). With the "new" WoW64 setup, it hangs, and the following message prints in the console every 60 seconds: 01bc:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 7BA07A00 "dlls/krnl386.exe16/syslevel.c: Win16Mutex" wait timed out in thread 01bc, blocked by 01a0, retrying (60 sec) Using standard wine 11.1 and wine-staging 11.11, both with new WoW64 enabled. (Tested the non-WoW64 build as well, as indicated in bug 59871.) Created new prefix with command: WINEPREFIX=~/wine_wow64/ WINEARCH=wow64 winecfg I assume that WOW64 prefix was successfully created. The game installed normally. However, during game startup this message was printed to console: 00fc:err:gdi:CreateDC16 Failed to create HBITMAP over memory, status 0xc000000d and a message box appeared with the following text: Title: Error Message: Inte tillräckligt minne. Prova att stänga andra applikationer som kör i bakgrunden och klicka på NYTT FÖRSÖK. Buttons: [Retry] [Cancel] Google translation of the message: Not enough memory. Try closing other applications running in the background and click RETRY. When Retry was pressed this text was printed to console: 00f8:err:gdi:CreateDC16 Failed to create HBITMAP over memory, status 0xc000000d -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59885 --- Comment #5 from Janne <janne.kekkonen@gmail.com> --- Hello, I retested this with Wine 11.20 on fresh prefixes. In all prefixes, the game installed successfully and I was able to play it. During installation, the following lines were printed to the console: 0134:fixme:nstc:NSTC2_fnSetControlStyle2 mask & style (0x00000004) contains unsupported style(s): 0x00000004 0134:fixme:shell:IShellBrowser_fnSendControlMsg stub, 000000000081F860 (2, 1026, a003, 0, 000000000021F378) 0134:fixme:shell:IShellBrowser_fnSendControlMsg stub, 000000000081F860 (2, 1026, a004, 1, 000000000021F378) 0134:fixme:shell:IShellBrowser_fnSendControlMsg stub, 000000000081F860 (2, 1025, a003, 1, 000000000021F378) 0134:fixme:shell:IShellBrowser_fnSendControlMsg stub, 000000000081F860 (2, 1025, a004, 1, 000000000021F378) WINEARCH options tested: win32, win64, and wow64 (I have no idea if wow64 differs from win64). The prefixes were created using these commands: WINEPREFIX=~/11.20win32 WINEARCH=win32 winecfg WINEPREFIX=~/11.20win64 WINEARCH=win64 winecfg WINEPREFIX=~/11.20wow64 WINEARCH=wow64 winecfg -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
