The same happens to the actual game when running it in windowed mode, fullscreen works fine. The game is written in Blitz3D, and source-code is included in the free download. For some strange reason even wine2.0 and wine2.6 now result in Bug 43442. Even the title menu doesn't exhibit the bug anymore.
