[Bug 58361] New: Genshin Impact: Game cannot start while an internet-connection is available
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 Bug ID: 58361 Summary: Genshin Impact: Game cannot start while an internet-connection is available Product: Wine Version: 10.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: 9427421240(a)posteo.net Distribution: --- Created attachment 78751 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=78751 Log - directly starting GenshinImpact.exe with an internet-connection available The game cannot start while an internet-connection is available. The internet-connection can be (re)activated after starting the game, for logging in and playing the game. This issue happens with Wine 10.0 and Wine 10.10. I was able to start the game normally with Wine 10.0 before, so it seems that a recent update to the game caused this issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I closed the game with the close-button on the overview of GNOME, shortly after the game started, to keep the log short. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The trace shows a binding to localhost, but that might be normal. This is yet another CEF application. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 --- Comment #4 from 9427421240(a)posteo.net --- It seems that Genshin Impact 5.8 changed something in the game that fixed this issue. I can start the game while an internet-connection is active again, with both Wine 10.0 and 10.12. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 Algoinde <algoinde(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |algoinde(a)gmail.com --- Comment #5 from Algoinde <algoinde(a)gmail.com> --- Hi! Just so people don't waste time triaging this in Wine next time it reoccurs (it probably will), on startup all Hoyoverse games request `https://dispatchosglobal.yuanshen.com/query_security_file?file_key=OSRELWinX.X.X`; domain names and version names will vary for different games. This request ignores the system proxy settings. It is used to populate the security config for their anticheat system and driver; if the request fails, the game loads default config instead. So the "failure to launch" actually lies within a feature of the anticheat bootstrap which gets turned on by a non-default code switch set in that remote file. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 --- Comment #6 from Austin English <austinenglish(a)gmail.com> --- (In reply to Algoinde from comment #5)
This request ignores the system proxy settings.
Sounds like this may be a dupe of bug 23134 or bug 45255. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 --- Comment #7 from 9427421240(a)posteo.net --- This issue happens again on my computer. I did not configure my computer to use a proxy, and, accordingly, the "Proxy"-setting in GNOME Settings is set to "Off". I did not change the setting since opening this issue-report. The version of Genshin Impact is currently 5.8. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58361 Bgungor <baris.gungor.it@gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |baris.gungor.it@gmail.com --- Comment #8 from Bgungor <baris.gungor.it@gmail.com> --- Data point for Genshin Impact 7.0.0 (Global) on plain upstream wine-11.17, clean win64 prefix: the behaviour described here no longer applies at this game version. Following comment #5, I blocked dispatchosglobal.yuanshen.com via /etc/hosts so the query_security_file request fails, then started the game. The result is completely unchanged from an unblocked run - same log, same abort, same exit code 5: fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation SystemCodeIntegrityInformation, size 8, stub! err:service:validate_context_handle Access denied - handle created with access 34, needed 10000 err:module:import_dll Library WDFLDR.SYS (which is needed by L"C:\windows\system32\HoYoKProtect.sys") not found err:ntoskrnl:ZwLoadDriver failed to create driver L"...\Services\HoYoProtect": c0000142 fixme:ntdll:NtRaiseHardError 0x50000018 ... So at 7.0.0 the anti-cheat bootstrap appears to require the kernel service unconditionally, rather than only when switched on by the remote security config. Making that request fail no longer changes the outcome, which means this bug as originally described is no longer the thing blocking startup. The game now stops at the wdfldr.sys issue tracked in bug 49193, which is still reproducible here. Full terminal output is attached to that bug rather than duplicated here. System: CachyOS, kernel 7.2.2, Wayland/KDE Plasma, NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop (driver 610.57.04) + Intel UHD Raptor Lake-S, Mesa 26.2.2. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
